This massive earthquake was recorded as a 7.8 magnitude on Saturday and was less than 50 miles away from Nepal's main capital city Kathmandu. This was devistating to the city and the poeple living within it. The earthquake turned many houses into rubble, roads into mangled messes of concrete, and has left thousands of people scared and without hope. India has been constantly sending in aid through planes and dropping many crates full of food, medical supplies and clothing. This earthquake was not just felt 50 miles away, but it was also felt on the tallest peak in the world, Mount Everest. It sent avalanches off killing, injuring and trapping large numbers of people on the mountain. They have been trying helicopter evacuations , but their are some places that the helicopters cannot reach, leaving the people theri to wait, and pray that they can be rescued.

  1. It is always sad to hear about such a bad earthquake hitting such a poor country. It will make it a lot harder to fix the country with less resources after this earthquake

  2. It is awful to hear that such a flourishing country was hit by such a devastating earthquake. It always seems that whenever a country grows it always experiences some disaster.
