Thousands upon thousands of people with live within the city of Kathmandu, Nepal have had their homes shattered to the ground and live without shelter. This massive earthquake was recorded as a 7.8 magnitude on Saturday and was less than 50 miles away from Nepal's main capital city Kathmandu. This was devistating to the city and the poeple living within it. The earthquake turned many houses into rubble, roads into mangled messes of concrete, and has left thousands of people scared and without hope. India has been constantly sending in aid through planes and dropping many crates full of food, medical supplies and clothing. This earthquake was not just felt 50 miles away, but it was also felt on the tallest peak in the world, Mount Everest. It sent avalanches off killing, injuring and trapping large numbers of people on the mountain. They have been trying helicopter evacuations , but their are some places that the helicopters cannot reach, leaving the people theri to wait, and pray that they can be rescued.

The ISIS Takeover

The ISIS Takeover

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/16/middleeast/iraq-ramadi-isis-damon/index.html

As many Americans know the militant group ISIS has constantly threatened the lives of American people. What many of us do not know however, is how many people they are actually harming in Iraq right now. In Ramadi, Iraq just outside of the countries capital, ISIS has been fighting a very bloody battle. They have been fighting to take control of the city, and currently they control the entire east side of Ramadi. this has caused many Iraqis to lose what little sense of safety that they had left and flee from Ramadi, some only bringing their Children and whatever they could carry on their backs. The government has also permitted the use of cars saying he it will reduce the chances of explosives being set off. This means that even if the people who had cars wished to flee, they could not do so without having to leave it behind. These people are fleeing to their government in Baghdad which is a 68 mile trek from Ramadi, and some of them may not even have a pair of shoes to wear. These people are fearing for their lives and are calling upon their government for assistance and they are being constantly ignored. Now, as thousands of people flee to the capital city for safety they want to know why no one ever came to help. One man of Ramadi was interviewed saying, "This is what we warned Baghdad would happen. Where is Baghdad?"

An Unexpected Bracket Winner

The final championship game was played last night between Duke and Wisconsin. As many of you may know Duke emerged victorious. What most of you might not have known, someone you probably know fairly well from being all of the news a few years ago did better than all of you. The one and only politician Mitt Romney scored in the top 0.1% of all 11.5 million brackets submitted. That is 6,326th of 11.5 million. Now most of you are probably thinking that because he's a politician he can tamper with this type of thing. I assure you I'm sure he can lie his way through a lot of things like most Congressman and Senates-man, but not a NCAA bracket it too serious of a business for that. Romney moved to his top position when a Duke toppled Wisconsin last night. I've seen his bracket and I have no idea on how he went about choosing these picks because they are indeed outstanding. Luckily the already millionaire did not receive any extra money off the bracket, but he did say he wish he had a wagered a little more with his son after seeing how well he did.
